Diane died in an automobile accident in the early fall of our sophmore year. She was with her older sister and her sister's boyfriend (a highway patrolman) driving a convertible on State Road 84, lost control and hit a tree. Diane was thrown from the car and died instantly. Her sister and boyfriend were both severly injured but survived. My sister and I attended her funeral, along with Carolyn Walters, her best friend at the time.
