Obituary

Constance “Connie” Coffman, 76, beloved mother, aunt and friend, passed away on January 16, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on September 16, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. She moved to Florida in 1951 and lived in Orange Park for the past 41 years. Connie graduated from Stranahan High School and Drake Business College in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She retired from the Florida Department of Transportation where she was an Executive Secretary. Connie was a former Worthy Matron of the Westconnett Chapter No. 247, Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a member. Connie was also an avid crafter. She loved scrapbooking and card making. She had a strong and devoted love of family, friends, and animals.  Connie will be greatly missed by all.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents Willy T. and Solvi Hiis, brothers Walter W. Hiis and Roy B. Hiis, and husband, Robert K. Coffman. She is survived by her children, Robert Coffman (Sherrie Butterfield) and Karen Ferguson (Randy) and nephew, Walter Hiis (Diana).

A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2:30 p.m. both at Aaron and Burney Bivens Funeral Home, 529 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, Florida 32073, (904) 264-1233.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie’s memory to Community Hospice and Palliative Care, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32257, Quigley House, P.O. Box 142, Orange Park, Florida 32067-0142, or Kamp Kritter Rescue Foundation, 281 McDuff Avenue South, Jacksonville, Florida 32254.

Linda Lee Zanky (Granger)

I was saddened to see Connie's name here... I guess I missed the original posting... I remember many happy times at Stranahan where she and I shared a number of classes... and other activities.  She was always a steadfast friend and we will miss her.      Linda Lee Zanky Granger... 5/6/2020

I also went to Drake with Connie.  We joined the same sorority and there are many great memories of our time there together.

Deborah Hartshorne (Niskin)

I grew up with Bobby Coffman. We were together from 1st Grade through 6th Grade. He was the tallest and I was the 2nd tallest. Connie told me what a wonderful husband he was to her and how terribly much she missed him.I was happy that Bobby had married such a sweet woman. He deserved someone like Connie.
