Sandra Loria (Preble)

Sandra "Sandy" L. Preble, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2021, in West Palm Beach, Florida, at the age of 77. Although she had many talents and achievements, she considered her greatest accomplishment to be raising her three children - James R. Preble, Robin S. Dokka, and Jay D. Preble.

Born Sandra Ila Hawkins at St. Francis Hospital in Miami Beach, Sandy grew up in Ft. Lauderdale and attended elementary school there until her family relocated to Bogota, Colombia, for 3 years. After moving back to Ft. Lauderdale, she attended Rogers Junior High School and was a 1962 Graduate of Stranahan High School, where she performed with the SHS Adagio Team, was on the Homecoming Court, and was a Calendar Girl.

After high school, Sandy became a flight attendant with Mackey Airlines and met and married Captain Robert W. Preble. They raised their family in Plantation, Florida. In addition to working for the airline, Sandy also had a photography business, was joint owner of Young Faces Talent Agency, and worked as a paralegal in Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Sandy was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Preble, her mother, Sophia Wilkinson Loria, her father, Frank S. Loria, and her nephew, William D. "Dale" Griffin. In addition to her children, she is survived by her sister, Janine Turner, and her brother, James F. Loria (Sara). She is also survived by her children's spouses: Keila Preble, Greg Dokka, and Kathy Preble, her grandchildren, Alexis Slagle (James), Kelsea Tripod (Jimmy), Kyle Dokka (Abigail), Rachel Preble, and Cameron Preble, and one great-grandchild, Isaac Tripod. Her grandchildren affectionately called her "Grandy."
